OUR TESTIMONY

Philadelphia International Outreach Ministries is a full gospel church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ using His servants; Pastors Benjamin and Anthonia Afobunor, in 1998 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and thereafter in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in USA (where we reside as citizens), in Nigeria, and now by his grace in Spain.

Pastor Benjamin was one of the church leaders arrested and imprisoned in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2001-2002) for proselytizing. He passed through the fiery furnace, fire, and the lion’s den praying, preaching, and praising God. He’s now a living witness testifying that the WORD is true. Amazingly the churches in the Middle East continue to flourish despite the persecution.

Pastor Benjamin had his Medical Education and Theological Education in Nigeria while Mrs. Afobunor had her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nigeria and USA respectively. They are blessed with three children Afoma, Nishuchukwu, and Comforter; everyone active in the ministry.

OUR LOCAL CHURCH

P.I.O.M is an off shoot of Philadelphia Believers Church International which derives its name from the Church in Revelations 3:7-13. This biblical church in Philadelphia, also called the faithful church, is the sixth of the seven churches of the Apocalypse located in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey) (Revelations 2 & 3). The Church in Philadelphia was commended and rewarded by the Lord.

As a local church, we believe that our calling, our journey of faith, and mission is rooted in this letter to the Church in Philadelphia. We believe that we are defined by the unique character and peculiar nature of the Church in Philadelphia.

We have since realized that as we do what the Church in Philadelphia did, we continue to get what the Church in Philadelphia got. We share in their responsibilities and in their rewards.

YOUR APPOINTMENT

Beloved of God, we are so glad you can keep this divine appointment with the living God. It is not a mere coincidence that today you are meeting with the same Jesus Christ who transformed the lives of the believers in Philadelphia Church. “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write…. I know your works, see I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it, for you have little strength, but you have kept My word and have not denied my name” (Rev. 3:7-8).

The Great and Mighty God set an open door for them despite their little strength and promised to make this church the pillar; the strongest, most stable, and permanent structure in His temple. A remarkable transformation indeed! (Rev. 3:12)

Dear friend, our outreach is mainly to the Middle East, the persecuted Christians, the MBB, and if you’re considering your strength, please know that the Lord of Philadelphia will empower you and set before you an open door in Jesus name. In fact, every known, unknown, or perceived weakness in your life is hereby taken away by the blood of the Lamb.

Similarly, those with little strength who came to David- “And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him” (1 Samuel 22:2) - were afterwards transformed into mighty men. “These are the names of Mighty Men whom David had” (2 Samuel 23:8).

The Lord of Philadelphia will transform your life spiritually, physically, financially, and socially in Jesus name.

Incidentally, we as Philadelphia Church are like these men of David. We are discontented with the moral decadence in our society, corruption in all tiers of our government, and the compromising church. No doubt you are equally or even more alarmed. So your calling today is to join and work with us to overthrow the sick kingdom of Saul, the kingdom of Satan, and enthrone the kingdom of the Son of David.

Finally, my brothers and sisters please remember that the Philadelphia Church never denied Jesus as they faced adversities, and those mighty men of David never looked at the faces of the adversaries.

May the fresh fire of the Holy Spirit fall on you, fill you, uphold you, keep you faithful, and make you fruitful and fulfilled in Jesus name.

Article of Faith

What we (P.I.O.M.) believe as a Pentecostal and Evangelical church:

1. The Holy Bible- We believe in the Holy Bible as sacred scriptures; both Old and New Testaments. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 Peter 1:23-25) 2. One God- We believe in one true God eternally existing as three persons namely; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Mark 12:29, Isaiah 43:11, 1John 5:7, Matt. 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14) 3. The Deity of Jesus Christ- We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and the eternal Son of God who became man without ceasing to be God. (John 1:1-3, John 1:14, Philippians 2:9-11) 4. The Fall of Man- We believe that by the sin of Adam, man fell and inherited a sinful nature. (Gen. 2:16-17, Gen. 3: 6, 17-19, Romans 5:12,19) 5. Salvation of Man- We believe that man’s only hope and means of salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, who died and resurrected to redeem us. (John 3:16-17, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Rom. 10:9-10, Ephesians 1:7, Romans 3:23-24, Romans 6:23) 6. The Church- We believe that the Church is the body and espoused bride of Christ. A spiritual organism made up of born again Christians. (Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians12:13, Acts 14:27, Ephesians 5:27) 7. Holy Spirit Baptism- We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the trinity, dwelling in every believer at the point of salvation. Holy Spirit Baptism is a subsequent experience after salvation, evidenced by supernatural ability to witness and the physical sign of speaking in tongues. (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts.10:44-47, Acts.8:14-17) 8. Baptism in Water- We believe in the ordinance of baptism by immersion in water. (Matthew 28:19, Mark16:16, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4, Gal.3:27) 9. Holy Communion- We believe in the ordinance of The Lord’s Supper. (Matt. 26:26-28, 1Corinthians 11:23-26) 10. Diving Healing- We believe that divine healing and deliverance from sickness and demonic attacks are provided for in the atonement. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:14-16) 11. Rapture – We believe that the dead in Christ and the living saints will be translated to heaven at the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus. This will keep the saints out of the great tribulation (1Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:13, 1Corinthians 15:51-53, Philippians 3:20-21) 12. Christ`s Second Coming & Millennial Reign - We believe that the second coming will be literal, bodily, and personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ with the raptured saints to establish the Millennial reign on earth. (Acts 1:10-11, Rev. 1:7, Rev. 20:1-6, Heb. 9:28) 13. The Final Judgment- We believe in the final white-throne judgment of the wicked; unbelievers, fallen angels, Satan, false prophets, the beast, death and grave.(Rev. 20:11-15, Rev. 21:8, Rev. 19:20, Rev. 20:10, Mark 9:43-48) 14. The New Heaven and the New Earth- We believe in New Heaven and New Earth. (Isaiah 65:17, Rev. 21:1, 22-27, 2 Peter 3:10 -13,) 15. Marriage - We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a union of one man and one woman who are called husband and wife. (Genesis 2:18, 21-24, Matthew 19:4 – 6)
